KOMPAS.com – Dedi Mulyadi, a member of the RI DPR, was moved by the story of Muhammad Ghifari Akbar (16), a scavenger from Garut, West Java.
This is because the teenager who recently had a viral photo when caught praying in a shop in the Braga area of Bandung city is known to have had a difficult life experience.
In addition to years of being a scavenger, he is also known to have abandoned his mother when he was eight months old.
After hearing the story directly from the person in question over the phone, Dedi admitted that he had his own plans to help Akbar.

Because Akbar aspires to establish a pesantren, Dedi will provide a space for him to teach the Quran to the children of Subang and provide him with the facilities to study the yellow books.
“I will ask the teacher to increase the deepening of the book. In fact, Akbar can read and understand several yellow books, but he needs to be re-educated for his grades to increase,” Dedi said on Thursday (05/11/2020).
Not only that, Dedi will also appoint him director of a garbage bank in Subang.
He gave the job because it was considered according to Akbar’s profession until now.
Also, Dedi has a waste bank in the area that requires competent people to manage it.
“He works to collect garbage. He cannot be lost. He cares about waste and waste management. He will become director of the garbage bank in Lembur Pakuan (Subang),” said the former Purwakarta regent.

Akbar’s confession
When they met him at home, Akbar admitted that he was shocked when he found out that his photo was recited in a viral store on social media.
At the time, he didn’t know exactly who took the photo and uploaded it to social media.
“He looks like a parking attendant, I also know that my photo was viral by the police,” Akbar explained Thursday.
Akbar admitted that when he left the house to collect waste, he had never left the five daily prayers and tried to keep the Quran wherever it was.

The effort made was a way of maintaining the mandate of his grandmother and father. The reason is that since childhood he has been taught to do this.
“If you are hungry on the street you have no money, I just pay, concentrate until the hunger disappears,” he said.
As for the choice to become a scavenger, Akbar said, in addition to generating income, it was also carried out with the goal of finding his biological mother.
Because from eight months he was abandoned by his mother. Until now, he only lives with his grandparents in Garut, while his father already lives with his new family.
