Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is increasingly catching up with President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, in obtaining votes in the state of Georgia. Currently, the gap between the two presidential candidates in this state has narrowed to less than 2,000 votes.
As reported CNN, Friday (6/11/2020), Biden’s votes increased slightly after the latest data from Clayton County, one of the few districts still counting votes in Georgia, was released Thursday (May 11) by night, US time
Of the at least 1,300 votes cast in the district, 1,154 voted for Biden and only 165 for Trump.
Clayton County, which is a solid foundation for the Democratic Party, reportedly still has 5,726 votes that have not been counted and the latest data is scheduled to be released again on Thursday (11/5) at midnight, time. from USA
In general, according to CNN, there are still about 16 thousand ballots that have not been counted in the entire territory of the state of Georgia.
Time count data CNN shows that with 99 percent of the vote in Georgia, Trump and Biden got 49.4 percent of the vote. Trump reportedly received 2,447,337 votes and Biden 2,445,540 votes.
The difference between the two so far has only reached 1,797 votes, very slim. A few hours earlier, the difference between the two was around 9,500 votes.
With 214 electoral votes currently at his disposal, Trump must not lose his seat in Georgia. Georgia is known to have 16 electoral votes for the two presidential candidates.
It takes 270 electoral votes, out of a total of 538 electoral votes, to win the US presidential election. Currently, Biden is ahead with 264 electoral votes.
