JAKARTA – Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) in the form of a salary subsidy of Rs 1.2 million, the second batch will be distributed this week. This aid is also very useful for the economy that is currently in recession, because the purchasing power of the workers who receive it can increase.
The chairman of the National Economic Recovery and Transformation Task Force (PEN), who is also Deputy Minister (Wamen) of BUMN, Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the distribution of the second batch of BLT wage subsidy will begin later this week.
“The plan is that by the end of this week the second wave of wage subsidies will start again for 12.4 million beneficiaries,” he said.
According to BPS data, the Indonesian economy experienced a recession after experiencing two negative economic growths. In the second quarter, the economy was minus 5.3 percent and in the third quarter minus 3.49 percent.
Therefore, the provision of cash assistance contributes greatly to economic recovery.
Budi said that the total budget for wage subsidies was allocated at 30 trillion rupees. Where half has been done and will be animated in this fourth quarter.
“The program of wage subsidies totaling Rs 30 trillion yesterday was half finished in 1 to 1.5 months. This will be completed in half and we will pursue it to the end,” he concluded.
