Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

US presidential candidate from the Democratic field Joe biden He asked all parties to be patient and calm while waiting for the results and said there was no doubt that he and Kemala Harris would win the 2020 US presidential election.

He delivered the speech accompanied by Kemala Harris from his headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday (11/5) afternoon local time.

“Harris and I remain very happy with the current situation. We have no doubts when the count is over, Harris and I will be declared winners,” Biden said.

“So, I ask all parties to calm down, all citizens to remain calm. The process is working. The count will be complete. And we will know soon,” he continued.

“So thank you for your patience, but we have to make sure all the votes are counted,” Biden said.

CNN reported that Biden also alluded to new Covid-19 cases in the United States that arose due to the American elections.

“Our hearts go out to all the families who have lost a loved one to this terrible disease,” said Biden.

The calculation of the results of the 2020 US presidential elections is very strict. As of Friday (11/6) in the early hours of Indonesian time, Biden was still ahead with at least 253 electoral votes, while Donald Trump pocketed 213.

At least 270 ballots are needed for a candidate to win the United States presidential election. However, several states have yet to announce the winners in their regions because they are still counting the votes.

One of them is Pennsylvania. The position of Pennsylvania, which has a quota of 20 electoral votes, is very important in determining victory in the 2020 US presidential election.

Biden only needed 17 electoral votes to win, which he might have had if he had taken Pennsylvania entirely.

But if Trump wins Pennsylvania, Biden can still win if he pockets at least the two states of Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina that are still on the account.

Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania government said they were able to complete the vote count in the region on Thursday (11/5) US time, or Friday (11/6) morning / afternoon Indonesia time.

“I think we certainly can,” Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar told CNN on Thursday (11/5), when asked about the possibility of hearing the state’s results later in the day.

“The regions are very excited to finish it and we seem to be ahead of schedule,” Boockvar said.

“I said that tomorrow the general ballots will be counted, but it seems that we will have them today,” he continued.
