Hundreds of supporters of the current candidate for the presidency of the United States, Donald trump took to the streets across the country to protest the vote counting process, which is still ongoing.
Most of the protesters carried out actions in the pockets of the Trump party in Phoenix, Arizona, Michigan and Detroit. The vote tally recorded Trump losing the electoral vote in both states.
The pro-Trump group organizing a rally in Phoenix demands a stop to the vote count. The lawsuits came after Trump, in a speech without evidence, said there was fraud.
Paul Gosar, a Republican senator from Arizona who joined the action. Gosar alleged fraud in the vote counting process.
“We will not allow this election to be stolen. Period!” Gosar said, as quoted. ABC.
Pro-Trump protesters in Detroit make their way to the TCF Center, where votes count for the state of Michigan. Protests in Detroit erupted after AP News published the news of Biden’s victory there.
Video footage released by local media showed Trump supporters in Detroit gathering outside the arena and inside the lobby of the TCF Center. Pedemo yelled to stop the vote counting process.
Police officers tried to prevent them from entering the vote counting area.
The wave of nationwide protests saw the arrest of 50 protesters in New York and 11 in Portland after fires and clashes with police.
The rally by Republican supporters broke out after Trump’s electoral gap widened with Biden. Although the two sides still have a chance to win 270 electoral votes, Trump’s chances of winning the presidential election are dwindling.
