Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Homeland | admitted concern about smelly action SARA by one guru at SMAN 58 Jakarta. According to him, the teacher could receive sanctions according to the applicable rules.
“Later, there may be other forms of sanctions. Then, we will ask the Office of Education to regulate it,” Riza said at City Hall, on Wednesday (4/11).
Earlier, it was reported that one of SMAN 58’s teachers with the initials TS invited students to elect the student council president who had a religion through a message. TS gave the appeal in a group WhatsApp called ‘Rohis 58’.

In that message, TS urged group members to be careful when choosing the student council president. They were asked to elect a student council president who shared the same faith.
The Gerindra Party politician considered the teacher’s actions wrong. An educator should not do things that lead to racist treatment.
“It’s wrong, an educator, much less a teacher, is not allowed to organize or intervene in the decisions of the student council,” Riza said.
Riza continued, at this moment the master had apologized and realized that his actions were wrong. He has also instructed the Office of Education to resolve this issue amicably.
“I myself have not received the exact report. We hope the Office of Education can finish it well,” Riza said.
“This is a lesson for all of us, who does not enter the area of religion in these matters,” he added.
The East Jakarta Metropolitan Police is currently investigating the report made by the student against the teacher of SMAN 58 Jakarta. This was related to the appeal of TS, as the denounced party who allegedly invited his students to elect the president of the student council who had a religion.
East Jakarta Subway Police Deputy Chief AKBP Stefanus Tamuntuan said the police had received the report against the teacher on November 2.
