Diogo Jota recently joined Liverpool, but can immediately enter an exclusive roster containing only a handful of names thanks to his achievements, especially in the Champions League.

Jota was recruited by Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in early September, with a transfer value said to have reached the range of £ 41 million.

He made his Premier League Cup debut against Lincoln City on September 24. Diogo Jota played 33 minutes of Liverpool’s 7-2 victory.

Diogo Jota then marked his debut for Liverpool in the Premier League in the second game, against Arsenal. He scored it by scoring goals.

Lately, the 23-year-old end of Portugal’s fertility has also risen. Diogo Jota has scored goals regularly in his last four games for Liverpool, including a hat-trick against Atalanta.

With a hat-trick against Atalanta in Liverpool’s 5-0 win, Diogo Jota was included in a special list of Liverpool players who managed to score a hat-trick in a Champions League match in the round principal, in the format of its current name (since 1992).

In reference to the BBC, GiveMeSport and LFCHistory.net records, even before Diogo Jota there were only four players who could do it. Here are the four players:

1. Michael Owen became Liverpool’s first player with a Champions League main draw hat-trick, when he scored in a 3-1 win over Spartak Moscow on October 22, 2002. He had another hat -trick the year before, but it happened in qualifying.

2. Yossi Benayoun was recorded as the second Liverpool player to score a hat-trick for Liverpool in the Champions League match. He did so against Besiktas on November 6, 2008, in an 8-0 victory.

3. Philippe Coutinho’s name is the fourth. He scored a hat-trick for Liverpool in the Champions League in a 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow on November 6, 2017.

4. Sadio Mane becomes the fourth player to have a hat-trick for Liverpool in the Champions League main round, thanks to his action against FC Porto in a 5-0 win on 14 February 2018.

Aside from those four names, of course plus current Diogo Jota, Steven Gerrard also recorded a hat-trick for Liverpool in the Champions League against TNS in 2005. But that happened in qualifying.
