Gareth Bale successfully scored his first goal since returning to Tottenham Hotspur. It tasted even sweeter because the goal was also able to deliver The Lilywhites to seal the victory.

At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, on Monday (11/2) WIB morning, the hosts faced Brighton & Hove Albion in the English League. José Mourinho’s squad took the lead in the 13th minute with a Harry Kane penalty, which was given by the referee after Adam Lallana violated the attacker in the forbidden area.

Brighton then managed to equalize in the 56th minute, when Tariq Lamptey tipped the ball into the right corner of Tottenham’s goal which was protected by Hugo Lloris. In a balanced state, Bale is also present to break the deadlock.

He was introduced by Mourinho in the 70th minute replacing Erik Lamela. Three minutes later, the Welsh player managed to put his name on the scoreboard. Taking advantage of Sergio Reguilon’s center, Bale brushed the ball, shook Robert Sánchez’s goal and secured the three points.

After the game, Bale was clearly the center of attention. How does it feel to score another goal for Tottenham after more than seven years?

“It feels great. You just want to get on the field and do your job for the team. I work for the team and I was lucky enough to score goals,” Bale told Sky Sports.

“Obviously it was a great pass from Sergio Reguilón and he was in the right position and time. Everyone always talks about individuals, but I am a player who works for the team, I am happy to help the team even if they have to tell me that defend “.

“The most important thing is the collective result. We continue to improve. Even if we make mistakes, we learn from them, we turn them into positive things,” said the former Real Madrid player.

Tottenham are now in second place in the Premier League standings with 14 points, just two points behind Liverpool who are on top. Gareth Bale also responded diplomatically on this matter.

“The situation is very competitive, we know that we should not be complacent. There are a number of great teams, so we just have to work as hard as possible,” he concluded.
