JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) or Pro Jokowi (Projo) voluntary community organizations asked BUMN Minister Erick Thohir to appoint more BUMN commissioners from the volunteer element to win the presidential election.
Secretary General (Sekjen) Projo, Handoko, stated that qualitatively many of the Jokowi volunteers have the competence and qualified experience to sit as commissioners of BUMN, including the directors of BUMN.
“Pak Erick seems to think that the volunteers who support them are incompetent, unworthy and will cause trouble for BUMN,” Handoko said. Tribunnews, Saturday (10/31/2020).
Handoko also asked Erick Thohir to consult with President Jokowi about the competition from supporters who have been with him since 2012 or who have supported Jokowi since he won the first presidential election in 2014.

Handoko assessed that the number of non-party volunteer commissioners and directors should be increased. Professionalism can be maintained because many volunteers also master the business fields of various state-owned companies.
“President Jokowi will demonstrate that competence. Pak Erick may not know it yet,” Handoko said.
Volunteers certainly have a vision and mission commensurate with the government. So indirectly it can help carry out government programs at the BUMN level.
“So the great desire of the community for state-owned companies to be managed in a healthy way will be easier to achieve,” Handoko said.

In addition, there are findings from 167 people who also indicated the same while sitting in the branch chair. These findings are based on a study conducted by the Ombudsman in 2019.
“What used to be an argument for political mission, safeguarding public service missions in BUMN, has become a policy of reciprocity and this is worrying according to the Ombudsman’s Office.
