Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A total of 509,140 vehicles left Jakarta during the three-day joint license period and the Prophet’s birthday 1442 H (27-29 October 2020) via toll roads. This figure increased dramatically compared to normal days. This means that on average there are 169 thousand vehicles per day, or well beyond the achievements of the last Lebaran 2020 welcome season.

This amount is an accumulation of traffic flow (traffic) from several main toll gates / barriers (GT), namely GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (eastbound), GT Cikupa (westbound) and GT Ciawi (westbound) south).

The record for this long Christmas season is quite large compared to the Eid homecoming period in May 2020 from the same toll gate locations. Jasa Marga’s previous report noted that during the D-7 to D-2 Eid al-Fitr period, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta reached 430,993 units over 6 days, or an average of just 71 thousand vehicles per day.

“The total volume of traffic leaving Jakarta has increased by 40.3% compared to normal new traffic,” said PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, on Friday (30 / 10/20).

Heru said that most of the distribution of traffic leaving Jakarta was 50.02% to the east. The rest, 27.73% towards the West and 22.25% towards the South.

The details of the traffic distribution are as follows:

East direction:

– GT Cikampek Utama 1, with 143,820 vehicles leaving Jakarta, an increase of 80.0% from new normal traffic.
– GT Kalihurip Utama 1, with a total of 110,853 vehicles leaving Jakarta, an increase of 51.0% from new normal traffic.
The total number of vehicles leaving Jakarta to the east was 254,673 vehicles, an increase of 66.1% over new normal traffic.

West direction:

Traffic leaving Jakarta heading west on the GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak toll road is 141,184 vehicles, an increase of 16.8% from new normal traffic.

South direction:

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta in a south / local direction via the GT Ciawi 1 Jagorawi toll road was 113,283 vehicles, a 27.6% increase over normal new traffic.

“Jasa Marga calls on highway users to anticipate their journey before entering the highway,” he exclaimed.

He also asked the public to ensure that vehicles and drivers are in optimal condition, comply with health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, and keeping distance in rest areas and refueling.

In addition, it is necessary to ensure an adequate electronic money balance, comply with the signals and instructions of the officers and take breaks if you are tired of driving.
