Be consistent, Pepe!

Nicolas Pepe scored a goal when Arsenal beat Dundalk. However, Pepe’s performance is still far from satisfying coach Mikel Arteta.

Pepe started the second game of Group B of the Europa League, Emirates Stadium, on Friday (10/30/2020) at the WIB in the morning, alongside Reiss Nelson and Edward Nketiah.

In fact, Pepe played aggressively by shooting five attempts during the hour he was on the field. But sadly, only one goal resulted in the 46th minute.

Using Joe Willock’s pass, Pepe shot straight into the corner of the net. When he retired, Pepe’s stats were bad because only one dribble was successful out of every three attempts.

Meanwhile, Pepe’s crossing accuracy is only 16.67 percent, isn’t that bad for a player who was brought in with a £ 72 million tag from Lille last season?

Yes, Pepe’s appearance since arriving at Arsenal has been disappointing. Last season alone, Pepe only scored five goals in the Premier League after scoring 22 goals last season with Lille.

Naturally, Pepe is rarely used as a starter by Unai Emery or Arteta. Pepe’s goal against Dundalk was also his first in nine games this season.

Therefore, Arteta asked Nicolás Pepe to appear more consistent in the future.

“As for Nico, I don’t think it’s too worrying,” Arteta said on the club’s official website.

“It’s a question of how he looks good every week. I’m sure he can do better and we want to help him too,” he continued.

“It is a question of consistency, it does not have to be throughout the game, but also during the season, to be able to make the right decisions in many important moments in which he has to do it.

“We are training refinementand hopefully it can seem more efficient ”, concluded Arteta about Pepe.
