PARIS – ISIS supporters celebrate the terrorist attacks in Nice and Avignon, French, through the distribution of posters with photographs of corpses stained with blood. Meanwhile, al-Qaeda publishes press releases calling for “jihad” or “holy war” on the cartoons of the prophet Muhammad from the French satire magazine; Charlie hebdo.

On Thursday, a beheaded woman was among three people killed by a Tunisian migrant in a knife attack on the Bacisilia Notre-Dame church in Nice. There were also attacks in Avignon, but there were no reports of casualties.

French prosecutors said the attacker in Nice used a 12-inch knife to massacre three parishioners. The perpetrator is now in hospital with serious injuries after being shot by police.

It landed in late September on the Italian island of Lampedusa, where it was quarantined by authorities to prevent coronavirus, before finally arriving in France this month.

The first victim of the Nice attack was identified as Vincent Loquès, known as a church guard. Loquès, a father of two, is a 54-year-old sexton in the building, an officer assigned to lead the church.

The second victim, a 60-year-old woman, was found strangled and beheaded inside the church.

The third victim, a 44-year-old woman, fled the church at 8:54 a.m., but died in a nearby cafe from her injuries.
