Jakarta –
Marcus Rashford made a quick hat-trick when he came on as a substitute. There are hidden records, as well as achievements that will make Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer proud.
In the Manchester United vs RB Leipzig match in the Champions League, on Thursday (10/29/2020) WIB early in the morning, Mason Greenwood scored the first goal for the local team. In the second half, the one-goal lead turned into a scoring feast for the Red Devils.
Marcus Rashford, who replaced Greenwood in the 63rd minute of the game, scored three goals apiece in the 74th, 78th minute and in injury time. Anthony Martial’s goal from the penalty spot in the 87th minute sent the Red Devils a 5-0 goal banquet against RB Leipzig.
On a note choose, Marcus Rashford became the fifth player in Champions League history to score a hat-trick as a substitute. Even Rashford’s hat-trick was the most surprising because his three goals were born in a span of just 27 minutes.
With a hat-trick in just 27 minutes as a substitute, Marcus Rashford beat players like Kylian Mbappé (38 minutes), Walter Pandiani (44 minutes), Joseba Llorente (45 minutes) and Uwe Rosler (52 minutes). Rashford is also the second youngest player after Kylian Mbappé to do so.
Throughout his career with Man United, this is the first time that Marcus Rashford has achieved a hat-trick. So it’s even more interesting because there is also an achievement that links him to Solskjaer, his coach at Man United.
Sky Sports said Marcus Rashford became the second Manchester United player to record a hat-trick after entering as a substitute. Before this, there was only Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who scored four goals in an 8-1 banquet, after coming in as a substitute against Nottingham Forest in February 1999.
