It is said that Karim Benzema instigated Ferland Mendy not to give the ball to Vinicius Junior. AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta was shocked by that.
Camera footage circulating on social media shows Benzema chatting with compatriot Ferland Mendy in the hallway of the stadium. This moment occurred during the break of the game Borussia Moenchengladbach vs Real Madrid in the Champions League, on Wednesday (10/28/2020) at the WIB in the morning.
Benzema and Mendy participated in the conversation in French, which the Brazilian Vinicius does not seem to understand. The Twitter account, Get French Football, uploaded a video of the conversation, providing information about the chat between Benzema and Mendy.
“Don’t change for him. I swear on mommy’s sake, he doesn’t play online with us,” Benzema told Mendy.
Costacurta responded to the incident. During his playing career, he admitted that he had never heard of such an incident.
“It is very surprising, I had never heard of something like that, neither in my team nor in the rival, unless they are joking. However, looking at their faces it does not seem that they are joking, they mean it,” Costacurta told Sky Sport Italia.
“It really doesn’t make sense. It’s weird, this guy just arrived at Real Madrid and he can tell, but Benzema said it was really amazing,” he continued.
Benzema responds to the rumors. He didn’t seem to bother with the perceptions of outsiders talking about him.
“While the dog barks, the ‘nine’ passes,” Benzema wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of him celebrating his goal.
