Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – This week’s long vacations appear to be used by Jakarta residents for travel. This is evidenced by the number of vehicles that died in the capital due to tolls on Tuesday (10/27/20) yesterday.

In one day, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk registered 147 thousand vehicles leaving Jakarta on D-2 (October 27, 2020) of the 1442 H Maulid Nabi holiday. This figure is the cumulative traffic flow (traffic) of various toll gates (GT) / Utama, namely GT Cikupa (westbound), GT Ciawi (southbound) and GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (eastbound) .

This number is quite large compared to the Lebaran return home period in May 2020 from the same toll gate locations. Jasa Marga’s previous report noted that during the D-7 to D-2 Eid al-Fitr period, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta reached 430,993 units over 6 days, averaging only 71,000 vehicles per day.

Dwimawan Heru, Director of Jasa Marga’s Corporate Communication and Community Development Group, explained that the total volume of traffic leaving Jakarta on October 27, 2020 before long vacations increased by 26.4% compared to normal traffic .

“For the distribution of traffic leaving Jakarta from the three directions, the majority are 49.48% east, 28.38% west and 22.14% south,” he said on Wednesday (10/28 /twenty).

Vehicles to the east were registered via GT Cikampek Utama 1, with a total of 41,143 vehicles leaving Jakarta, a 63.6% increase from normal traffic. Additionally, at Kalihurip Utama 1 GT, a total of 32,058 vehicles left Jakarta, an increase of 38.5% from normal traffic.

“The total number of vehicles leaving Jakarta to the east is 73,201 vehicles, an increase of 51.6% from normal traffic,” Heru said.

Meanwhile, to the west, registered vehicles via the Cikupa GT Tangerang-Merak toll road totaled 41,984 vehicles, an increase of 4.9% from normal traffic. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta heading south / local via the GT Ciawi 1 Jagorawi toll road was 32,763 vehicles, an increase of 14.1% over normal traffic.

“Jasa Marga urges toll road users to anticipate the journey before entering the toll road. Make sure vehicles and drivers are in tip-top condition, comply with health protocols (wear masks, wash hands and keep your distance) while they are in the rest areas, fill up with fuel and electronic money balances. Enough, and obey the signals and direction of the agents and rest if you tire of driving, “he exclaimed.
