JAKARTA – An officer of the Navy (AL) of the Marine Corps, Colonel (Mar) Pangestu Widiatmoko, was the victim of a robbery while traveling by bicycle. Colonel Pangestu was abducted from Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, in central Jakarta, on Monday, October 26, 2020.

1. Colonel Pangestu Almost every day the Cilandak – Kwitang Tour
Colonel Pangestu was a Marine Corps officer whose hobby was traveling. Almost every day he travels from his residence in Cilandak, South Jakarta, to his duty station at the Marine Corps Office in Kwitang, central Jakarta.
“Almost every day he goes to work from his residence in Cilandak to Mako Kormar Kwitang,” said Kadispen (Mar) Marine Corps Lt. Col. Gugun Saeful Rachman.
2. Colonel Pangestu was dibegal near the office of the Ministry of Defense
According to the information collected, Colonel Pangestu was robbed in Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, to be precise near the office or building of the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan). Pangestu was hijacked while the road was still empty, around 6:45 am WIB.
The perpetrator stole Colonel Pangestu’s bag. Inside the bag is Pangestu’s cell phone.
3. Colonel Pangestu had a chance to fight before he fell.
Colonel Pangestu defended himself when his bag was about to be stolen. Pangestu realized that he was the victim of an attempted robbery. He also tried to fight the thief who was suspected of being more than one person.
However, Pangestu lost his balance on his bike. He also fell and suffered a tear to his left temple and bruises to the back of his head. The perpetrator also managed to steal Pangestu’s bag.
4. Marine Corps holds perpetrators accountable
Kadispen (Mar) Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Gugun hopes that the police can immediately catch the perpetrators of the robbery. Gugun stressed that the perpetrator must be held accountable for his actions.
