A Surabaya resident, Yaidah (51), came to the Interior Ministry Office (Kemendagri) in Jakarta just to obtain a death certificate. This was because he was disappointed to feel that it was difficult to take care of the Dispendukcapil.

The director general of Population and Civil Registry (Dukcapil) of the Interior Ministry, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, when confirmed, said that the death certificate had been issued on September 23, 2020.

“The information from the Head of the Surabaya District Office was received by the interested party on September 23, 2020,” Zudan said on Monday (10/26/2020).

Zudan was also curious as to why Yaidah did not first report the issue to the local whistleblower and instead went directly to the Interior Ministry.

“This mother has not been included in the complaint system. She has not complained. In fact, I am curious as to why the mother immediately went to Jakarta, she did not report through the no. call center, “he said.

“Poor Dukcapil from Surabaya city too, because in one case the performance was bad,” he said.

Later, Zudan gave a press release from the head of the Surabaya city administration, Agus Imam Sonhaji. In that statement, Agus said there was a lack of communication that made Yaidah have to go to the Interior Ministry. In fact, through the local urban village office, Yaidah’s correspondence can be completed.

Agus also recounted the beginning of the chronology of the problem. Around August 2020, Yaidah took over her son’s death certificate at the urban village office for insurance claim purposes. However, because he felt that the process at the kelurahan was taking a long time, Yaidah eventually sought information from the Siola Public Service Center for certainty.

“In fact, at that time the Public Service Mall was implementing it emergency shutdown, so our officers are also limited. Because most of them work from home, “said Agus.
