Alcañiz –
Alex Rins was not disappointed that he was unable to continue his victory in Teruel MotoGP 2020. Because Franco Morbidelli was so fast and difficult for the Suzuki rider to catch.
With the victory in MotoGp Aragón last week, Rins and Suzuki are eager to conquer the Motoland Aragón circuit again, at Teruel MotoGP 2020, on Sunday (10/25/2020).
Rins, who started from third position, was blown away by Takaaki Nakagami, who had the furthest pole position at the start of the race. Rins immediately took second place behind Franco Morbidelli.
Well, after that, Rins has faithfully followed Morbidelli, who looks comfortable in the front position. Rins kept trying to close the distance, but her attempts always failed. On lap 13, Rins distanced himself from the pursuit of Johann Zarco.
Morbidelli then extended the distance to more than 1.5 seconds behind Rins in second place. Although it dropped to 1.2 in the remaining three laps, Morbidelli was eventually able to win the race and Rins had to bite his fingers.
Rins missed his second win this season, which is helpful in keeping his distance in qualifying. Because his teammate Joan Mir was able to finish third so he stood firm in the top of the MotoGP rider standings with 137 points, 12 points difference with Rins in sixth position.
Indeed, Rins deserves to be disappointed in this loss, but he bravely admits that Morbidelli was in fact faster and harder to get close to over 23 laps.
“A good race. Last week I was faster, but Morbidelli showed great ability. I was able to keep the distance with him at the beginning of the race, because he used soft tires, but after that he was able to run,” Rins was quoted as saying by GPOne.
“Morbidelli is extraordinary, I couldn’t overtake him at all because he was too fast. But whatever it is, I’m satisfied with the performance of my bike,” continued Alex Rins.
