JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, which has been running for more than seven months, has yet to show signs of improvement.
This can be seen with the constant transmission of the corona virus that causes the number of Covid-19 cases to continue to increase.
According to data from the Covid-19 Manipulation Working Group on Friday (10/23/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there were 4,369 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
This addition brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia now to 381,910 people, as of the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.

This information was transmitted by the Covid-19 Working Group through data received by journalists on Friday afternoon.

The patient recovered and died
Although it is not yet known when the pandemic will end, hope is seen with the growing number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered.
In one day, there were 4,094 additional Covid-19 patients who recovered and were deemed no longer infected with the corona virus.
They were declared cured according to the examination method. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) showing a negative result for coronavirus.
Therefore, the total number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered is now 305,100 since the start of the pandemic.

However, the government is still reporting grief over the growing number of patients who have died.
In the period from October 22 to 23, 2020, 118 people died after being infected with the corona virus.
Therefore, the death rate from Covid-19 in Indonesia is 13,077 people.
With this data, there are currently 63,733 active cases of Covid-19. They are patients who are still in treatment in the hospital or in independent isolation.
In addition to the positive cases, 161,763 people are currently suspected.

A total of 4,369 new cases were discovered today after the government examined 42,287 samples in 24 hours.

Currently there have been cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia in all provinces, from Aceh to Papua.
In detail, there are 501 districts / cities of 34 provinces affected by corona virus infection.
This means that more than 97 percent of the area in Indonesia has been affected by the pandemic due to the virus scientifically named SARS-CoV-2.
