Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– The management of the Covid-19 pandemic at the national level has now shown significant achievements. The coordinator of the Team of Experts and Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Management Working Group, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, showed a significant result in the graph of the decrease in the percentage of active cases nationwide.
“The percentage of active cases in Indonesia has continued to decline since the beginning of the pandemic. In March (2020) the average number of active cases was 91.26%, which is very high. Then it continues to decline,” he explained when giving a press release on the development of Covid management. -19 broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Secretariat of the Presidency, Thursday (10/22/2020).
It continued, the fall of the graph was seen again in April 2020 at 81.57%. In May it fell again to 71.35%, June to 57.25%, July it fell to 44.02%, August it fell again to 28.26%, September it fell again to 23.74% and on October 22 By 2020, the percentage of active cases has fallen again to 16.8%.
According to Wiku, the percentage of decrease from month to month is quite drastic and is a very good advance. “Active cases, hopefully, can continue to decline and be suppressed until there are no active cases until all are cured. Active cases can be suppressed minimizing transmission and all levels of society can contribute to implementing health protocols, namely #jagajarak, #pakaimasker and #cucitangan, “he said.
However, although at the national level the percentage of active cases shows good results, there are still districts / cities that have a number of active cases above 1000. Wiku Adisasmito said that there are 12 districts / cities that are in the spotlight because they have not shown a significant increase in results.
The twelve regions are Bekasi (1,039), Central Jakarta (1,211), North Jakarta (1,343), Bekasi City (1,410), Bogor (1,484), Depok City (1,897), South Jakarta (1,952), Jayapura City (1,959), West Jakarta (2,023), East Jakarta (2,781), Padang City (2,816), and Pekanbaru City (2,909).
Sadly, these 12 districts / cities have been healthy for weeks with the number of active cases exceeding 1000 cases. It is true that these 12 regencies / cities fall into the category of large cities whose economic activities are already underway. And this, Wiku said, is the biggest challenge is that the health protocol can be implemented in all community activities.
“We ask the local governments of 12 districts / cities to work to suppress the number of active cases with strict monitoring of community discipline in the implementation of health protocols, especially in the economic and social sectors that are already functioning. ”He ordered.
In addition, progress in the management of Covid-19 as of October 22, 2020 shows that the number of active cases is 63,576 cases or 16.8% compared to the world average of 21.9%. The sum of positive cases was 4,432 cases, the number of cured cases reached 301,006 cases or 79.9% compared to the world average of 75.1% and 12,959 cases died or 3.4% compared to the world average of 2.85%.
