JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – There are 10 countries that recorded the highest external debt of 120 low-income countries according to the International Debt Statistics (IDS) 2012.

The 10 countries that have the highest external debt are:
1. China with a debt of 2.1 trillion US dollars
2. Brazil with a debt of US $ 569,390 million
3. India with debts of US $ 560.03 billion
4. Russia with a debt of US $ 490.72 billion
5. Mexico’s debt amounted to US $ 469.72 billion.
6. Turkey’s debt amounted to US $ 440.78 billion.
7. Indonesia owes US $ 402.08 billion.
8. Argentina owes US $ 279.30 million.
9. South Africa US $ 188.1 billion.
10. Thailand 180.23 thousand dollar AS
The data published by the World Bank shows the total external debt of the countries in 2009, 2015, 2016, 2017 and the most recent data is the external debt in 2019.
