Bayern Munich opened the scoring in the 28th minute. Kimmich sent a long ball from midfield that hit Coman from the left side of the penalty area. The French winger caught the ball with his left foot and finished off with a right-footed shot to beat Oblak. Bayern lead Atlético 1-0.
Carrasco returned to lead Atlético’s attack. However, Atlético’s shot was not yet on target.
Going into the final five minutes of regulation time, Bayern managed to increase their lead to 2-0. Robert Lewandowski grabs the ball from midfield to pass it to Coman. He then sent the ball diagonally to Leon Goretzka to finish off with a strong kick.
Bayern came close to scoring their third goal just before half-time. However, Lewandowski’s header to welcome a Benjamin Pavard cross was deflected.
