JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Brigjen (Pol) EP, suspected of having a sexual orientation of LGBT groups (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) was found guilty of violating the ethical code by the Police.
The results were decided at a session of the Police Code of Professional Ethics Commission that Brigadier General (Pol) EP served on January 31, 2020.
“First, the behavior of the offender is declared a shameful act,” said on Wednesday (10/21/2020) the head of the Public Information Office (Karopenmas) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General (Pol) Awi Setiyono at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, South Jakarta.

Awi previously mentioned that LGBT behavior violates article 11 letter c of the Regulation of the Chief of the National Police Number 14 of 2011 on the Code of Professional Ethics of the Police.
The article establishes that every member of the National Police is obliged to “obey and respect the norms of morality, religious norms, values of local wisdom and legal norms.”
Furthermore, the Brigadier General (Pol) EP is obliged to verbally apologize to the audience and / or to the direction of the Police and other aggrieved parties.
Another sanction, the Brigadier General (Pol) EP is obliged to participate in the formation of mental, psychiatric, religious and professional personality for one month.
“Ultimately, the person in question was transferred to a different position that was demotivating for three years,” he said.

Awi said the case was an assessment of the existence of LGBT groups in the National Police.
However, Awi was reluctant to explain in detail the evidence or chronology that made Brigjen (Pol) EP known as part of the LGBT group.
According to him, the handling was carried out based on complaints.
