An employee of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Sukaryono passed away with a positive confirmation status COVID-19, Tuesday (10/20).
Previously, a professor at the UNS School of Law, Prasetyo Hadi Purwoko, was also declared dead from Covid-19, on Monday (10/19).
UNS Foreign Minister Jamal Wiwoho explained that the two people underwent a hyssop test (swab) risk of coronavirus infection on October 8, 2020.
The hyssop test itself was carried out as a condition of participating in the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) event in Palu, Central Sulawesi, which was held on October 15.
“From there it is known that both are positive for Covid-19,” said Jamal.
Jamal revealed that the two had attended an event held by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in Bali in late September.
The activity itself is still a series of events in Palu. Jamal explained that before leaving for Bali, both Sukaryono and Prasetyo had tested negative for Covid-19 based on the results of the PCR test.
He said Prasetyo had self-quarantined because he had no symptoms. However, on the fourth day, Prasetyo suddenly had difficulty breathing and was hospitalized at UNS Hospital.
“Pak Prasetyo died Monday morning at 01.00 WIB. As for Pak Sukaryono this morning [Selasa] 10.00 WIB, “he said.
Currently, the UNS Covid-19 Task Force along with Sukoharjo Regency’s Covid-19 Management Acceleration Task Force are still conducting contact tracing.contact tracking) in these two cases. In addition, the family has also been asked to self-quarantine.
Yunia Wahdiyati, spokesperson for the Sukoharjo Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, said her party contact tracking to residents who interact with patients. While contact tracking which was carried out by the UNS Covid-19 Working Group aimed at the academic community of the campus.
“We have also asked the village government to participate in monitoring their respective areas in the patient’s environment,” he said.
