A mass of teenagers still stood at the horse statue in central Jakarta after the student protest refused all the law dissolve. The mass of youths got rowdy and fought amongst themselves on the spot.
Surveillance detikcomOn Tuesday (10/20/2020) around 5:20 p.m. WIB, at Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, precisely at the barbed wire barrier in front of the Sapta Pesona building, the crowd got loud and fought. About two minutes of commotion, the crowd of young people ran to the Monas cross in front of the horse statue.
The crowd was unable to enter Monas because there were officers on duty. They also drag traffic cone or traffic cones present on the site.
The mob occasionally threw provocative cheers at the police officers. Meanwhile, officers are still on duty at the scene. No more speeches this afternoon.
The police had urged the masses to leave the scene. And go home in an orderly manner.
“The mass of students demonstrating is over, lawsuits have been filed. Please return home immediately,” police appealed over a loudspeaker.
Until now, there are still a number of surviving masses in the area of the horse statue. Some of them sit on the side of the road, stand, or just talk. The police are also still busy.
