Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Ministry of Human Resources adding four components of the needs of a decent life (KHL) fix salary minimum in the next 2021. Again, the total number of KHL components is only 60 types.

This additional KHL component is contained in the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 18 of 2020 on Amendments to the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 21 of 2016 on KHL.

The Director of Salaries of the Ministry of Manpower, Dinar Titus Jogaswitani, said that several KHLs were added, between television and credit. Later, the full list of KHL components that are new will become a benchmark for the minimum wage next year.

“Since the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower, the KHL component that originally consisted of 60 types has now changed to 64 types that are used as a reference for KHL in 2020 and are used as one of the formulas to determine wages in 2021.” Dinar said in an official statement, quoted on Monday (19/10).

The new rules regarding the KHL component, Dinar said, would be socialized with members of the provincial and regency / city wage councils. However, so far the Ministry of Manpower has not provided any information on the minimum wage that will be set next year.

What is certain, Dinar said the government will review the KHL component every five years. The reason is that the necessities of people’s lives will change with the times.

“Why once every five years? Because people’s consumption patterns change every five years. For example, does the need for rice, sugar or clothing remain the same or has it decreased from five years ago until now,” said Dinar .

Acting Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Security for Workforce Haiyani Rumondang said the government will listen to the aspirations of all levels of society when determining the minimum wage. Not only about the formulation, but also about salary policies during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The current KHL review period coincides with the Covid-19 pandemic and has an impact on the economy. Under current conditions, the government continues to listen to all parties on the best wage policy formulation during the Covid pandemic- 19, “Haiyani said.

From a labor point of view, Haiyani received an explanation that the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on the decrease in income. As a result, workers have difficulty meeting the needs of their families.

On the other hand, Haiyani added that the Covid-19 pandemic is also bad for companies. This is because demand has decreased and production has been interrupted due to a shortage of raw materials.

“Therefore, it is necessary to understand all the parties about the conditions that exist so that the synergy of all the parties is maintained so that they can go through this difficult moment (the Covid-19 pandemic) correctly,” Haiyani concluded.
