JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Cai Changpan, the death convict, used various methods to survive in the Tenjo Forest, Bogor Regency, West Java, after escaping from Tangerang Prison.

Cai Changpan allegedly often stole a series of food belonging to a factory worker burning tires in a forest area.

At the factory, Cai Changpan was found dead by suicide.

“In fact, there are some who claim that their food is often lost. Maybe he (Cai Changpan) is hungry and then they take him away,” Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Nana Sudjana said Monday ( 10/19/2020).

Nana explained that the workers suspected that someone was staying at the factory every night.

This was then reported to the village chief, who then continued with the Task Force to hunt down Cai Changpan.

“This was then reported to the village chief and it continued to us. After our search efforts, the death row inmate had hanged himself there,” said Nana.

Police suspect that Cai Changpan chose to commit suicide because he was in a desperate situation, in the middle of the persecution of a special team consisting of Polda Metro Jaya, Brimob and Tangerang Prison.

There are at least 291 members who are members of the special team to hunt down Cai Changpan in the forest.

Some of these members conduct periodic searches with each other’s mobile systems.

Based on the fingerprints and toto identification, the police confirmed that the body was Cai Changpan.

Police took Cai’s body to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for an autopsy.

As a result, it was confirmed that Cai Changpan died from his body and no other injuries were found due to the violence.

“So we can be sure that the hanged man is really the brother of death row Cai Changpan alias Antoni,” Nana said.

Cai Changpan ended his life by hanging himself in a tire factory in the Tenjo forest.

Until now, this forest has been the place of Cai Changpan’s escape after successfully escaping from the Class I Tangerang Prison on September 14.

Before entering the forest, Cai Changpai had time to meet his wife and children in a house located not far from the forest.

Cai Changpan’s attempt to escape captivity was not the first time.

The Chinese drug lord, who possesses 135 kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine, also escaped from the Tanahan House, Bareskrim, Police Station on January 24, 2017.

While languishing in Tangerang Prison, Cai Changpan punched a hole from the cell to the sewer. The hole is about 2 meters long and has an estimated length of 30 meters.
