JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has been going on for more than seven months, but there is no indication that the government has controlled the rate of transmission of the coronavirus.

This can be seen in the growing number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, with a relatively high number of new cases, more than 4,000 people.

According to government data on Sunday (10/18/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there were 4,105 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The addition has caused the number of Covid-19 cases in the country to now reach 361,867, as of the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.

This information was relayed by the Covid-19 Management Working Group through data provided to journalists on Sunday afternoon.

The patient recovered and died

Hope emerges amid a pandemic with data showing that more Covid-19 patients are recovering.

In one day, there were 3,732 additional Covid-19 patients who recovered and were declared no longer infected with the corona virus.

They are considered cured according to the results of the examination with the method. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) showing a negative coronavirus.

Therefore, the total number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered has been 285,324 since the start of the pandemic.

However, the government also broadcast sad news with the presence of Covid-19 patients who died.

There are 80 Covid-19 patients who died between October 17-18, 2020.

Thus, the death rate from Covid-19 in Indonesia reached 12,511 people.

With this data, the number of active cases of Covid-19 is currently recorded at 64,032 people. They are still in treatment or in independent isolation.

In addition to the positive cases, 159,715 people are currently suspected.

Sample data

A total of 4,105 new cases were obtained after examining 36,378 samples per day.

In the same period, 22,421 individuals were sampled for sample examination.

So far, the government has examined 4,056,336 specimens from 2,528,319 people sampled.

For the record, a person can undergo a sample examination more than once.

The government has stated that the Covid-19 case has been registered in all provinces of the country, from Aceh to Papua.

In more detail, there are 500 districts / cities in 34 provinces that have cases of corona virus transmission.

This means that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected more than 97 percent of the Indonesian territory.

The pandemic is not only reflected in the increasing number of cases, but also in the widespread spread in Indonesia.
