Pollycarpus Budihari Prijanto, the person involved in the murder of human rights activist Munir Said Thalib, passed away this afternoon. The man who works as a pilot died this afternoon at RSPP, Jakarta.
“I just confirmed it to a doctor friend of the RSPP, it is true that he has preceded us. Innalillahi wainna ilaihi rajiun,” Berkarya Party Secretary General Badaruddin Andi Picunang told reporters on Saturday (10/17/2020) . Picunang confirmed the news that Pollycarpus had died.
Pollycarpus reportedly passed away in a Corona positive status. However, Picunang has not been able to confirm it.
“The problem with COVID-19, I don’t know. I got the news from a friend whose wife is a doctor who manages COVID-19 at RSPP. She is being treated at RSPP,” he said.
Picunang admitted that his last encounter with Pollycarpus was last August during the Berkarya Party Working Meeting in Surabaya. According to him, Pollycarpus has recently been involved in the distribution of herbal medicines for the Corona virus.
“He is active in anti-COVID-19 herbal medicine. He is our great family in Berkarya. Please pray that the deceased will be accepted by his side and apologize when there is a mistake. He is a good person,” Picunang said.
Pollycarpus is a former Garuda Indonesia airline pilot who was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted in the case of Munir’s death on September 7, 2004. After serving 8 years in prison, he was released conditional since November 28, 2014.
There was not much news about him after he was released from Sukamiskin prison. Polly was declared pure free on August 29, 2018.

Polly was reported to have joined the Berkarya Party, which was then led by Tommy Soeharto. But then he denied it.

Polly admitted that she had indeed received many offers to join political parties. However, he emphasized that he was not interested in politics.
“I’m not in charge of politics. I don’t want to, so I prefer to work professionally,” he said.
Polly said that after being purely free, she would focus on pursuing the world of aviation according to her ability. He will continue to work as a manager at PT Gatari Air Service. The aviation business was said to be owned by Tommy Soeharto.
