KOMPAS.com – A wave of demonstrations against the general law of the Employment Creation Law continues to emerge in various regions. One of them is in Bogor Regency, West Java.
Thousands of workers held a demonstration in front of the Regent’s Office, Jalan Tegar Beriman, Cibinong, on Friday (10/16/2020).
In their speech, they urged Bogor Regent Ade Yasin to support workers’ efforts to reject the regulation.
This is because in the regulation just approved by the government and the DPR, it is considered that it only favors the interests of investors and in fact emasculates labor rights.

Responding to the demonstration, Bogor Regent Ade Yasin was finally willing to meet with them.
In her speech, Ade fully supported the aspirations of the workers and also strongly rejected the general law on job creation.
“Long live the workers, my dear brothers, I am the regent, I will definitely take the side of the people because the number of factories and workers is the highest here,” Ade shouted in front of the workers.
“Thousands of workers work here and that is my community. Whatever their origin, they are residents of Tapanuli, Maluku, but as long as they live in Bogor Regency, I will support their struggle, I will reject the bus law,” he continued.
As a commitment to defend the interests of her citizens, who are the majority workers, Ade admitted that she would send a letter of recommendation to President Joko Widodo.
He hopes that the president can immediately issue a government regulation instead of the (Perppu) general law.

According to him, the partisanship of the current leaders is very necessary. In addition, in the regulations it is known that many articles emasculate the rights of workers.
It is therefore natural that protests against regulation continue to emerge in various regions.
“This is my community and the largest number of workers in Bogor Regency, yes, the ties in Indonesia are also with the largest employers in Indonesia, so when they asked me for support to send a letter. Yes, I present it because they are my community.” Ade said when they met separately after giving speeches in front of the working masses.

“In a situation like this we are asked to vote, right?” Ade added when asked about the consequences of participating in the demonstration.
On this occasion, Ade also thanked the demonstrations made by the workers. This is because the action was carried out politely and did not cause a disturbance.
