Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A history teacher in France was beheaded by someone after showing a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in his class. This attack was also considered an Islamic terrorist attack.

The assailant, whose identity has not been identified, was shot by local police while trying to arrest him. The perpetrator later died from gunshot wounds that occurred with the authorities.

Quoting AFP on Saturday (10/17/2020), the attacker yelled ‘Allahu Akbar’ when confronted by the police. A police officer said these calls were heard frequently in jihadist attacks.

Indeed, France has felt acts of terror since 2015 against the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and the Jewish supermarket in the capital.

French counterterrorism prosecutors considered the attacks as murders directly linked to a terrorist organization and linked to terrorist crimes.

The attack itself took place on the outskirts of Paris on Friday, local time, around 5 p.m., next to a school in Conflans Saint-Honorine, a northwestern suburb located 30 meters from the center of the French capital.

French President Emmanuel Macron also visited the scene of the attack, saying it was an Islamic terrorist attack. Macron, who seemed sad, said that all the people were ready to defend the teachers.

Four people, including minors, have been detained, judicial sources informed AFP.
