jpnn.com, PARIS – The heinous act of murder of a man against a high school history teacher in the city of Paris.
Based on police statements, the teacher cut his throat with a knife in front of the school where he teaches, located on the outskirts of Paris, France, on Friday (10/16).
The attack is considered an act of terrorism.
The attacker was shot dead by police patrolling nearby.
The teacher shows cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad to his students in class, which Muslims see as blasphemy, according to police sources.
French counterterrorism prosecutors said they were investigating the attack, which took place in Conflans Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris.
President Emmanuel Macron arrived at the scene on Friday night.
French broadcaster BFMTV reported that the alleged attacker was 18 years old and was born in Moscow.
