So what is Jumhur Hidayat’s profile like? The man who was born in Bandung on February 18, 1968, was Head of the National Agency for the Placement and Protection of Workers of Indonesia (BNP2TKI) in the era of the Government of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). For seven years, from January 11, 2007 to March 11, 2014, Jumhur Hidayat served as BNP2TKI.
In the 2014 presidential and vice-presidential elections, Jumhur Hidayat became a supporter of the couple Joko Widodo (Jokowi) – Jusuf Kalla (JK). At the time, Jumhur Hidayat served as a volunteer declarer for Jokowi who was part of the Free People’s Alliance (ARM).

Usually, Jumhur demonstrations when he was a student about the process of eviction of people’s land such as the Badega, Kacapiring, Cimacan and Kedung Ombo land cases, whose themes were highlighted in 1988 and the defense of farmers’ rights. On the same day, the ITB rector fired Jumhur Hidayat and five of his fellow ITB students. On November 29, 1989, Jumhur began his trial in the Bandung District Court. Then the Bandung District Court panel of judges on Thursday February 8, 1990 sentenced Jumhur Hidayat, Amarsyah and Bambang to three years in prison each with a period of temporary detention.

After a long period of inactivity, Adi Sasono invited Jumhur to join the Center for Information and Development Studies (CIDES) in early 1993. He was at CIDES until 1999. While at CIDES, Jumhur returned to study at the National Physical Engineering University (Unas) Jakarta and graduated in 1996.
