UPDATE: Increase of 4,301 cases, Covid-19 in Indonesia pass 350,000 pages in total

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government through the Covid-19 Management Working Group stated that the transmission of the corona virus still occurs in the community.

This can be seen in the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to this day, Friday (10/16/2020).

According to incoming data as of Friday at 12.00 WIB, there was an addition of 4,301 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

This addition brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia currently to 353,461 people, as of the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.

This information was revealed by the Covid-19 Working Group through data received by journalists on Friday afternoon.

The public can also access the data through the Covid19.go.id and Kemkes.go.id sites to update which is available every afternoon.

The patient recovered and died

The Covid-19 Task Force also showed hopeful data with more and more patients recovering after they are no longer infected with the corona virus.

In one day, there were 3,883 additional Covid-19 patients who were declared cured.

They are considered cured according to the examination by methods. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) showing a negative result for coronavirus.

Therefore, the total number of patients who recovered after being exposed to Covid-19 now stands at 277,544 people.

However, there is still sad news with the increasing number of Covid-19 patients who have died.

In the period from October 15 to 16, 2020, 73 patients with Covid-19 died.

Therefore, the death rate due to Covid-19 in Indonesia has now reached 12,347 people.

With this data, there were 63,570 active cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia, either in treatment in hospitals or in independent isolation.

Apart from the positive cases, there were 157,672 people currently suspected.

Sample data

A total of 4,301 patients who recently declared themselves to have Covid-19 were discovered after the government examined 41,541 samples.

In the same period, 30,197 individuals were sampled for sample examination.

In total, the government has examined 3,976,653 specimens from 2,479,222 people sampled.

For the record, a person can undergo a sample examination more than once.

So far, all the provinces of Indonesia have registered cases of Covid-19.

In detail, 500 districts / cities of 34 provinces have been affected by the corona virus infection.

This means that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected more than 97 percent of the Indonesian territory.
