Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Agus Maftuh Abegebriel lamented the use of the diction ‘tsaurah’ in FPI press releases about Habib Rizieq Syihab’s plan to return to Indonesia. Agus said that tsaurah in Arabic can mean hit.
“We regret that the Arabic documents read at yesterday’s rally, especially the diction ‘tsaurah’ which is a translation of ‘revolution’, are very taboo in Saudi Arabia. ‘Tsaurah’ may mean ‘inqilab’ (coup), faudha (chaos, chaos), intifada (rebellion), taqatul (war, killing each other), idhtirab (security disturbances) and tamarrud (rebellion), “Agus told detikcom, on Friday (10/16/2020).
“It is very sensitive to read by the public in Saudi Arabia. And I am sure that the Saudis and Muslims will not be willing to use the holy city of Mecca to shout ‘tsaurah’ against the syar’iyyah (constitutional) country of the Republic. from Indonesia, “Agus said.
Agus emphasized that he did not prevent Habib Rizieq from returning to Indonesia. However, Agus reminded all parties to follow the rules in Saudi Arabia.
“Regarding the MRS return plan to Indonesia, the Indonesian embassy never interfered. We only gave one message: follow the Saudi rules, don’t set your own rules,” Agus said.
The tsaurah diction used by FPI is contained in a press release in three languages. The press release was titled ‘Announcement from the Holy City of Mecca on the planned return of IB-HRS’.
The tsaurah diction is on the second page of the Arabic press release. FPI defines tsaurah as revolution.
FPI director KH Ahmad Shabri Lubis also relayed the plan to return Habib Rizieq during a demonstration against the general law of the Employment Creation Law. Shabri said that Habib Rizieq would lead the revolution.
“High Priest Habib Rizieq Syihab will soon return to Indonesia to lead the revolution,” Shabri said from the top of the command car on Tuesday (10/13).
