Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Former TNI Commander General (Ret.) Gatot Nurmantyo and several senior officials from the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (U.S) read a petition to the Chief of the National Police, General Idham Azis at headquarters Policeman, Jakarta, Thursday (10/15).

The plan is for the petition to be sent directly to Idham Azis. But police said Idham had never been in office since the corona virus pandemic. The petition was read by the Presidium Rochmat Wahab of the United States in front of the media.

There are seven points of declaration in the petition. First, we regret the arrest of three declarators, namely Syahganda Nainggolan, Jumhur Hidayat and Anton Permana.

“Furthermore, if it is linked to article 17 of the Criminal Procedure Code regarding the need for at least two tests, and to article 45 of the ITE Law on the phrase ‘may cause’, it must be considered that the arrest of our figures has a political purpose, “Wahab said.

Second, we consider that the detentions are forced, excessive and go beyond humanitarian borders. Especially about the arrest of Jumhur Hidayat, who had just been released from the hospital after undergoing gallstone surgery.

Later, they felt that the National Police formed biased institutional opinions, generalizations, and coercion through post-arrest press conferences. WE are also disappointed in the way the National Police reveal the identities of our three declarants.

All of the above, including the disclosure of the name and identity of a detained person, shows that the National Police does not respect the principle of presumption of innocence. presumption of innocence, which should be enforced by law enforcement agencies, “Wahab said.

WE also said there were indications of cell phone hacking from activists critical of the government, including our members.

The newly formed organization refused to be linked to the violence in the demonstrations. They support demonstrations as a form of freedom of expression. However, they do not support the destruction of public facilities.

Seventh point, WE demand the publication of the figures. They evaluated the ITE Law that was used as the basis for the arrest of democracies.

“We ask the Police to release our figures and other victims who are deliberately accused of using the ITE Law which contains many ‘rubber articles’ and should be considered contrary to the spirit of democracy and the constitution,” he said.
