Jokowi Receives Final Draft Job Creation Act from DPR Through Secretary of State

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DPR finally submitted a draft of the Job Creation Act to President Joko Widodo.

The final manuscript of the Employment Creation Law was presented by the Secretary General of the RPD, Indra Iskandar, to the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, on Wednesday (10/14/2020) in the afternoon.

Indra arrived at Patikno’s office in the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, at 2:21 p.m. WIB, as broadcast on YouTube Compass TV.

He showed the final manuscript of the Copyright Law to the journalists’ cameras before entering the main lobby of the National Secretariat building.

The bill sent to the president consists of 812 pages. A total of 488 pages are the contents of the law, while the rest are explanations.

This draft has gone through the review and editing process by the Secretary General of the DPR after being approved in plenary session on October 5, 2020.

Previously, drafts with different page counts had been distributed. At least three drafts were accepted by journalists, including a 905-page, 1,035-page draft.

The president of the Legislation Body of the RPD, Supratman Andi Agtas, acknowledged that there was a substantial change in the final draft with the previously circulated draft.

However, he explained, the change was an alignment of decisions when the bill was still being discussed.

So far, the public has not been able to access the draft Employment Creation Law on the official DPR or government website.

In fact, on the DPR website, in the Priority Prolegnas process box, the new Job Creation Bill was registered until the Level I Talks.
