The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) highlighted the participation of children in the action of the National Anti-Communist Alliance (ANAK) NKRI and PA 212 in the demonstration of the omnibus law of the Law of Job Creation in the Horse Statue , Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/13). KPAI is concerned that children have been included in the action.

The KPAI commissioner even went directly to the scene of the action and interviewed several children at the scene. Children, from the average elementary school (SD) to high school students, did not even understand what was being demonstrated.

“In the rejection of the Job Creation Law this afternoon in Jakarta, I monitored the participation of children in this action. Many children were involved,” KPAI Commissioner Jasra Putra said in his statement to detikcom, Tuesday (10/13/2020).

Jasra regretted that the children had to confront the police. He also felt tense when he saw the children fight fearlessly against the police.

“It’s quite tense to see children being pushed back, continually throwing at the police,” he said.

It should be noted that the demonstrations in Jakarta that took place on Thursday (10/8) and Tuesday (10/13) were attended by thousands of teenagers who came from all over.

Jasra suspects that there are around a thousand children involved in this action. There is even a baby too.

“My estimate is that there are almost thousands of children in the place. From babies to teenagers,” he said.

Below are the facts of the participation of children in the demonstrations: (see next page)
