jpnn.com, JAKARTA – House Vice Speaker Azis Syamsuddin has formally issued a public apology regarding the controversy over the recent Creation of Law Bill (Ciptaker Bill).
Previously, the DPR and the government approved the bill known as the Omnibus Law in plenary session, on Monday (10/5).
“As for the things that have happened in recent days on my personal behalf, of course also the nine parties and institutions of the Indonesian People’s Representative Council (RPD). Apologize if there is any disagreement,” Azis told a conference of Press at Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/13).
The press conference was attended by several DPR (AKD) officials and legislators from various factions. Among them are DPR President Baleg Supratman Andi Agtas, PDIP faction chairman in DPR Utut Adianto, DPR members Neng Eem Marhamah, John Kennedy Azis, Lamhot Sinaga, Nurul Arifin, Andreas and the secretary DPR General Indra Iskandar.
Azis at the press conference also asked the community to trust that the DPR board will abide by the rules. The Golkar Party politician stressed that all the work of the DPR will be responsible to Almighty God.
“Trust us that I am committed to the nation and state to abide by the rules in a professional manner and by abiding by them, I am accountable to Allah SWT,” Azis said.
The former president of Commission III of the DPR guaranteed that the parliament had no interest or deliberately used the Omnibus Law for the benefit of certain parties.
