TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The chairman of the High Council of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), asked the two coordinating ministers (Menko) in the administration of President Jokowi to be open about the accusations of the mastermind at the demonstration of the Employment Creation Law . The two Coordinating Ministers are the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Not only that, SBY also asked the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to be open to the public. According to SBY, openness is needed so that the public does not suspect each other and trust and judge that the government likes to spread slander.
“It is better to say, otherwise the state will deceive, it is not good,” he said at the ‘Casual Chat’ event uploaded by his YouTube channel, on Monday, October 12, 2020.
Indonesia’s sixth president said the government needs to gain the trust of the people in carrying out its functions. “If people then think that this is why they are accusing the country, the government, then it is not good,” he said.
He said that the one who could answer and clarify was Airlangga Hartarto cs, who had previously spoken with the public if he already knew who was behind the manifestation of the omnibus law. “I’m sure if asked, you must want to explain. That is the ethic that anyone who is fulfilling the mandate of this country should have,” SBY said.
He also denied that he was considered the intellectual author of the demonstration. SBY explained that even if it had the ability to mobilize the masses and a lot of money to finance the demonstration of the Job Creation Law, it would not do this. “I have no intention, I have not thought about doing something that I think is not the right thing to do,” he said.
SBY isn’t sure if the actors Airlangga, Luhut, and BIN are referring to are him. “My relationship with Pak Airlangga has been good, with Pak Luhut also good, with BIN there is no problem. I am not sure if BIN considers me an enemy of the state,” he said.
