Ervan’s story, 11 years missing in Jakarta, starting with saying goodbye to Game Watch and meeting the family

KOMPAS.com – Husband and wife Suparno and Sutanti, residents of Dukuh Panurejo RT 018, RW 006, Kedungupit district, Sragen, Central Java, are currently feeling happy. Why not, her second son, Ervan Wahyu Anjasworo (17), who was missing for 11 years in Jakarta, finally returned.

Ervan disappeared when his father invited him to vacation in Jakarta in 2009. At the time, he was 5 years old.

As he was about to return the game, a busker approached him and invited him to go home. However, instead of being invited to go home, they invited him to sing.

“I was on the street (singing) for about two years,” he said when he met Kompas.com at his home in Sragen, Friday (09/10/2020).

Together with the busker, Ervan has been in Solo for a month, after which he returned to Jakarta.

However, when they reached Bogor, Ervan and the busker heard the sound of the sirens of Satpol PP. Fearful of being hit by the raids, they ran to save themselves.

At the time, Ervan was just staying at the mosque. Then he was found by the head of RT and asked him where he lived.

As he did not know, Ervan was later designated as an adopted son by the director of RT.

“About four months Pak RT died. There was a grandson who wanted to take care of me and adopt me as a foster child,” he said.

For seven months under the care of the grandson of the head of RT, he was then taken in by the Integrated Services Center for Empowerment and Children (P2TP2A) of the Social Service of the city of Bogor.

“There are P2TP2A employees who want to make me their son. They sent me to a pesantren for about eight years,” he said.

Not only that, he also received training from the Bogor City Social Service and received an internship for one year and two months.

“There is another (Dinsos) Bogor Regency who appointed me,” he said.

Then Ervan received job training at PRSABH Cileungsi District, Bogor Regency for two years.

Meet the family

The meeting between Ervan and his family started when he was idly searching for information about the existence of the Gonggang market through a Google search.

“Last September I played with the computer. I was doing it for fun (looking for information) by opening Google Maps,” he said.

As a child, Ervan admitted that his grandmother often took him shopping at the traditional market in Sragen.

Then, out of curiosity, he did a search with Google Solo. There, Ervan saw that Solo was in Wonogiri, Boyolali, and Sragen.

“I followed the trail one by one which, from what I remembered, was Pasar Gonggang Sragen,” he said.

After that, Ervan recorded the address of Pasar Gonggang Sragen that he found in a Google search and then gave the address of the market to the social workers at the orphanage.

“After that, the director of the orphanage contacted groups from Solo, Wonogiri and the Central Java regions. Until he finally turned to Sragen,” he explained.

After that, Ervan received family photos, including photos from as a child, from Sragen.

When he saw the photos, Ervan remembered that the photos sent were of his family.

“I know what my father’s face was like, what my mother’s face was like, and what my brother’s face was like,” he said.

Then the director of the orphanage where Ervan lived contacted the district social welfare staff (TKSK) in Sragen. Not long ago, TKSK Sragen came to the orphanage and organized Ervan’s return letter.

Meanwhile, Ervan’s father, Suparno, said he met his missing 11-year-old son after receiving information from Sragen Regency’s Social Service.

“I received news from Sragen’s Social Services Agency. There is news that her son is Ervan and his father is Parno, his mother Tanti has a brother, Ajeng,” he said.

Later, Suparno communicated with his son through a video call. A week later a collection was made in Bogor.

After that, Suparno and Sragen Social Agency went to Bogor to pick up Ervan on Sunday (10/4/2020) afternoon and arrived in Bogor on Monday (10/5/2020).

“I arrived in Sragen on Tuesday morning (6/10/2020). Alhamdulillah, I was very happy to be able to meet up and be reunited with my family,” he said.
