Bio Farma requests IDR 45.5 T for 260 million Corona Sinovac vaccines

Coordinating Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed the total funds that the government needs to contract 260 million corona vaccine worth 45.5 trillion IDR. This is the total fund proposed by PT Bio Pharma (Persero) for the acquisition of the corona vaccine from Sinovac.

It was written in Airlangga’s presentation material at a press conference after a limited virtual meeting (rats) with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Monday (10/12).

Airlangga said that Bio Farma needed an initial payment (DP) for the acquisition of the corona virus vaccine of 3.6 billion IDR. Meanwhile, the total initial payment to be prepared until 2022 is IDR 24.21 trillion.


Subsequently, the government will disburse funds for the acquisition of vaccines proposed by Bio Farma in stages until 2022.

After the amount of 3.6 trillion IDR is paid in October 2020, the government will pay another initial payment in January 2021 of 1.82 trillion IDR, 3.2 trillion IDR in February 2021, 3, 2 trillion IDR in March 2021, 3.97 trillion IDR in April 2021, June 2021 Rp. 3.4 billion and July 2021 Rp. 3.97 trillion.

In addition, the payment for the purchase of vaccines will continue in August 2021 worth 2.14 trillion rupees, in September 2021 worth 2.1 trillion rupees, in October 2021 worth 8.6 trillion rupees and in December 2021 worth 6 trillion rupees. Then the final payment will be made in February 2022 in the amount of 2 trillion IDR.

Airlangga said that Bio Farma had also established a timetable for the procurement of the corona vaccine. In November 2020, for example, there will be an estimated 15 million doses of the corona virus vaccine.

“Bio Farma already has a schedule and a budget,” Airlangga said.

Data from Airlangga shows that the target of 260 million vaccines is estimated to be met in October 2021.

After acquiring 15 million doses of vaccine in November 2020, Bio Farma estimates that there are 10 million doses of the corona vaccine on January 5, 2021, 20 million doses of the corona virus vaccine on January 28, 2021 , 5 million doses of the corona virus vaccine on February 26, 2021 and 32 million vaccines. on March 29, 2021.

Then Bio Farma estimates there will be 21 million doses of the corona virus vaccine on April 30, 2021, 20 million doses of the corona virus vaccine on May 31, 2021, 33 million doses of the virus vaccine crown on June 29, 2021.

Several vaccine supplier companies that work with Indonesian state companies are Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca and Novavax. Airlangga emphasized that Bio Farma handled the procurement of vaccine raw materials from Sinovac and Sinopharm. “From Sinopharm, it is estimated that (the raw material of the vaccine) will have 15 million doses and next year 50 million doses. Then, from Astrazenica 100 million doses,” said Airlangga.

Vaccine distribution

Airlangga further explained that the government had established a priority list for coronavirus vaccine recipients. In the early stages, the government will distribute vaccines to 3.49 million medical, utility, TNI and Polri personnel, as well as legal officials, with a total vaccine need of 6.99 million doses.

Then, religious leaders, regional apparatus such as districts, villages and RT / RW, as well as some economic actors up to 5.62 million people and the need for vaccines up to 11.24 million doses.

So all the teaching staff are 4.36 million people with a total vaccine need of 8.72 million doses. These educators are those who work in kindergarten, elementary, middle, high school, and college.

Then, the government apparatus, both at the central, regional and legislative levels, adds 2.3 million people with a total need for vaccines of 4.61 million doses.

Finally, there are 86.62 million BPJS Kesehatan participants who are included in the list of Contribution Assistance recipients, with a vaccine need of 173.24 million doses.

“In total, there are 102.41 million people with 204 million doses of vaccine. Then, 57 million people and other economic actors from 19 to 59 years old need a total of 115 million doses, a total of 160 million people “Airlangga said.

He added that the government will distribute vaccines in 2021 to 135 million people. A person will be vaccinated twice, bringing the total vaccine need to 270 million doses by next year.
