Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
All Indonesia Student Executive Board Alliance (GOOD YES) assess governance Joko widodo turning back the narrative of rejection UU Cipta Kerja Omnibus Law saying that the demonstration against the Law occurred because the community was consumed by deceit.
“The government is currently gathering forces to distort the narrative of elements of society, students who reject the Employment Creation Law. [Presiden] transmit directly, if those that we demonstrate are consumed by deception and misinformation, “said BEM SI through a press release received CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (10/12).
Contacted separately, the president of the BEM SI Alliance, Remy Hastian, said that the demonstration that took place some time ago was not due to a hoax or misinformation. He also emphasized that the latest demonstration did not question the substance of the Job Creation Law that he called Jokowi.
Jokowi had previously broadcast this accusation of deception or misinformation, saying that the demonstration was motivated by deception about the essence of the Employment Creation Law.
“The basis of what we have formulated and done so far is clear, the essence of the Employment Creation Law, which is based on formal defects, is no longer open and seems to be in a hurry. In fact, many people have refused, especially during the pandemic, “he said CNNIndonesia.com by phone.
Remy said that Jokowi’s response to the rejection of the Job Creation Act did not necessarily prevent students from returning to protest. His party plans to return to the demonstrations in the near future, although the day and place have not yet been determined.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked those who are not satisfied with the omnibus ciptaker law to submit a judicial review to the Constitutional Court (MK). (YouTube screenshot of the Presidential Secretariat).

Remy assessed that the government and DPR actually contributed to creating misinformation and deception because they were not transparent in the deliberation process of the law. Even the final draft, he said, was not officially released to the public.
“In this case, the government is the one who creates lies and generates real disinformation in the eyes of the public because the public is not given space to access the information on the Law of Job Creation that has been approved,” he said.
On the other hand, Remy also criticized the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Culture to urge students not to protest against the Employment Creation Law. BEM SI believes that the appeal is a form of intervention that deprives students of their right to express themselves.
He also asked all students and elements of society not to feel provoked by the riots during the demonstration. Students and the public are being asked to stay focused on demanding that Jokowi issue a Perppu on the Job Creation Act.
“We have not lost. The escalation of the student and community movement is not limited to October 8 only. We will continue to echo the narrative of the struggle for rejection until the president issues a Perppu repealing the Employment Creation Law,” he continued .
In a statement on October 9, Jokowi said there were many deception and misinformation related to the Job Creation Act, such as the calculation of the minimum hourly wage, the removal of all licenses and the authority of the company to rescind the employment (PHK).
“I see demonstrations against the Employment Creation Law, which are basically motivated by misinformation about the substance of this law and deception on social networks,” he said.
In his statement, Jokowi also clarified that these things were hoaxes and misinformation. He emphasized that the Employment Creation Law is considered important because it will open jobs.
Jokowi also invited the public who opposed to submit a judicial review of the Employment Creation Law to the Constitutional Court.
