Danilo Petrucci won the 2020 French MotoGP. The Ducati rider admitted that he was really good at wet racing.
At the Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans, on Sunday (11/10/2020), Petrucci, who started the race on the third grid, accelerated immediately. He was almost always in the lead throughout the race and finally managed to finish first with a record time of 45 minutes 54.736 seconds.
The 29-year-old Italian rider has a good record in French MotoGP for the past three years. In 2018, he finished second at Le Mans, then finished third the following year. This time, he could be at the top.
However, it is different in the two previous races, this time the race was held on a wet track because it rained before the race. Petrucci admitted that he was worried at first when it rained, but was confident he could go fast.
“This race is incredible, because since the morning I have good feeling on a dry track, I said ‘I’m fine’, but when I saw the rain, I felt, ‘oh no …'” Petrucci said afterwards. Carrera, as broadcast by Trans 7.
“But maybe I can do it in the rain, and I’m always strong in wet races. I never imagined that I could win here again. I’m very, very happy because I always get on the podium at Le Mans.”
“This victory is for all those who always believe in me in difficult moments, I am very happy and still have a hard time believing what I have just achieved,” concluded Petrucci.
This victory sent Petrucci up to 10th with 64 points. The next race, the Aragon MotoGP, will be held next week, Sunday (10/18).
