The 2020 French MotoGP has ended. Fabio Quartararo is still at the top of the table, but now he is caught by Joan Mir.

In the race that was held at the Bugatti Le Mans circuit on Sunday (11/10/2020), Quartararo performed poorly. Despite holding pole position, Quartararo lost that position from the start of the race.

The Petronas Yamaha rider only finished in ninth position. Meanwhile, Danilo Petrucci emerged as the champion in this race, followed by Alex Márquez and Pol Espargaró who completed the podium.

Quartararo’s failure had an impact on the MotoGP classification he led. Now Quartararo has 115 points, just five points ahead of Joan Mir in second place. Joan Mir in the Le Mans race, fortunately, only finished eleventh so that Quartararo did not overtake him.

However, the results of the French MotoGP make the competition even tighter, considering that Andrea Dovizioso in third place now has 97 points, just 18 points behind Quartararo. Dovizioso should be able to close that gap or even overtake Quartararo, if he can maintain his position in the front row.

Maverick Viñales, who did not have a spell in the French race, remains fourth in the drivers’ standings with 96 points, followed by Takaaki Nakagami with 81 points. Franco Morbidelli, who failed to finish sixth with 77 points.

So where is Valentino Rossi? Once again, without finishing, Rossi fell to 13th with 58 points. Alex Márquez, who won the first podium this season, is still 14th with 47 points.

The 2020 MotoGP race has already played nine of the 14 series scheduled. The next cycle will be held in Aragon next week.
