JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to remove the emergency brake, also known as the strictest large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).
This means that the DKI Jakarta provincial government has re-implemented a transitional PSBB for two weeks from October 12-25, 2020.
The reason for the lifting of the emergency brake was a slowdown in the active case of Covid-19 in the Capital City during the month of the PSBB tightening.
“Based on the monitoring and evaluation results of the DKI Jakarta Province Covid-19 Management Acceleration Working Group, there appears to be a slowdown in the increase in positive cases and active cases, although there is still an increase in transmission.” Anies said in a written statement on Sunday (11/10/1020).

“Seeing this, the provincial government of DKI Jakarta has decided to gradually reduce the emergency brake policy and enter the transition period of PSBB with new provisions for the next two weeks, starting from October 12 to 25, 2020.” he continued.
As is known, the rebound in Covid-19 cases in early September caused the DKI Provincial Government to remove the emergency brake and impose a stricter PSBB for two weeks, from September 13 to 27, 2020.
The stricter PSBB was extended for two weeks from September 28 to October 11, 2020.
