A total of 300 resident houses at Jalan Damai RT 04 / RW 02, Cinganjur Village, Jakarta South, submerged flood with heights ranging from 70 cm to 150 cm, Saturday (10/10) night. One person was reported to have died in the incident.
The head of the Jagakarsa district, H Alamsah, said the flood was caused by the overflowing of children from the Setu river due to heavy rains and water from the Depok area.

He said the overflow of the Kali Baru children was due to the wall dividing the river in the Melati residents area breaking and the water overflowing in the residential area of RT 04 / RW 02.
Several residents’ houses on the river bank were also damaged, one resident died and two others were injured as a result of the incident.
“Two of them have been evacuated at Sibron Hospital, the other has information that he died at Marine Hospital,” Alamsyah said.
According to Alamsyah, the victim died as a result of the fall of his house, which was damaged by the overflowing of the children of Kali Setu. Until now, the water remains high enough to flood the residential areas of Jalan Damai.
His party has prepared three shelters for displaced residents, but most of the residents prefer to stay on the second floor of their home.
“The Jakarta Social Service has set up tents at the site for residents to evacuate, we need food assistance,” Alamsyah said.
