President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that it would listen to public comment in the elaboration of regulations derived from the laws Cipta Kerja Omnibus Law (Ciptaker) which was recently approved by DPR and the Government.
The derived rules are Presidential Regulation (Perpres) and Government Regulation (PP). The former mayor of Solo said that Perpres and PP will be completed within 3 months of Ciptaker’s enactment.
“I need to emphasize that the Employment Creation Law requires a lot of PP and Presidential Regulations. After this there will be PP and Presidential Decrees that we will complete no later than 3 months after their promulgation,” Jokowi said in his statement posted on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat on Friday. 9/10).
“Our government opens and invites public opinion and there are still proposals from the regions,” he continued.
The DPR RI Plenary Meeting held on Monday (10/5) at the Parliament Complex officially approved the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Bill to become Law.
The plan to make the Omnibus Law Ciptaker himself was announced by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) when he took over as president for the second term in October 2019.
Since the deliberation period, the law has been criticized by many elements of society. The substance is considered to be harmful to workers and harmful to the environment.
Aside from substance, the discussion process, which was deemed to have minimal public participation, was also the center of attention.
According to Advocacy and Network Director for the Center for Legal and Policy Studies (PSHK) Fajri Nursyamsi, the process of discussing the bill until its passage did not involve maximum public partition. Democracy is considered sloppy.
“The processes that are not transparent and participatory are colors that cannot be removed when describing the process of shaping the Employment Creation Law. The legislative process is carried out in a hurry, and neglects to present a democratic space,” said Fajri in its statement, on Tuesday (10/6).
