KOMPAS.com – Bambang Purwoko, a UGM lecturer who is a member of the Joint Investigation Team (TGPF) of Pastor Yeremia’s shooting, was shot on Friday (09/10/2020).

Bambang was shot in the leg after the TPGF group carried out the shooting at the crime scene of Pastor Yeremias Zanambani in Hitadipa village, Hitadipa district, Intan Jaya Papua.

Apart from Bambang Purwoko, Faisal, a member of the Hitadipa Apter Task Force, was also hit on the waist.

Meanwhile, the third victim was Pratu Ginanjar, a Waltis member of the 400th Infantry Battalion, who suffered a gunshot wound that ricocheted off his left palm.

During the incident, the TGPF group was intercepted by an armed criminal group (KKB) when they were about to return to Sugapa, the capital of the Intan Jaya regency.

The shooting took place on Friday afternoon in the Kampung Mamba Bawah area, Hitadipa district.

According to the Chief of Information of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Kogabwilhan) III, Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa, Bambang and Sertu Faisal were immediately evacuated to the UPTD from Saugapa Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

“At 4:40 p.m. WIT, the victim arrived at UPTD Sugapa Hospital for medical treatment,” Suriastawa said.

The plan is for them to be evacuated to Timika on Saturday morning.

Pastor Jeremiah was found shot to death on Saturday (9/19/2020) around 6:00 p.m. in Kampung Hitadipa.

Jeremiah was a native of Suko Moni and had translated the Bible into Moni.

Pastor Jeremiah is the sixth victim to die during the week in Intan Jaya. Before Jeremiah, four other victims were shot and killed.

The brutal action of the KKB in Intan Jaya has occurred since Monday (9/14/2020). At that time, in one day, two motorcycle taxis were shot dead at the scene and at the same time.

Three days later, the KKB returned to action in Bilogai village, Sugapa district, resulting in the death of Serka Sahlan and a civilian, Bahdawi.

The next victim was Babinsa Koramil Hitadipa Preparation, Pratu Dwi Akbar Utomo also died after suffering a gunshot wound.

Meanwhile, the Joint Investigation Team (TGPF) consisting of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD will investigate four cases of shootings in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua.

In addition to investigating Pastor Yeremia’s shooting, the team also conducted an investigation into the shooting in Intan Jaya in mid-September 2020.

Mahfud stressed that police efforts in the case of the shooting would be carried out quickly and transparently.

“Quickly and transparently, it can be seen by the public,” he said.

Mahfud signed on Thursday (10/1/2020) the decision on the joint investigation team for incidents of violence and shootings at Intan Jaya Regency.

They were given two weeks to solve the case of the shooting in Intan Jaya.

Amnesty suspects that it was carried out by members of TNI

Meanwhile, Amnesty International Indonesia has revealed a series of temporary finds related to the shooting of Pastor Yeremia Zanambani in Intan Jaya, Papua.

According to Amnesty International Indonesia investigator Ari Pramuditya, the witness revealed that the alleged perpetrator was a member of TNI based not far from Jeremia’s home.

“In the chronology we obtained, the witness stated that the shooting was allegedly carried out by one of the TNI members who was occupying the school post,” Ari said at a virtual press conference on Friday (02/10/2020).

From satellite images obtained by Amnesty, the location of Jeremías’ house is seen in front of a military post.

According to information collected by Amnesty, the military post is located in the area of ​​the One Roof School for the School of Education and Foundation of the Evangelical Church in Hitadipa.

Ari said the place had been busy for about nine months.

According to him, the witness also stated that the alleged aggressor had been in the military post for a long time.

“So, in our opinion, it makes sense if the witness mentioned that he knew the person who shot the priest,” he said. “Especially before he died, the pastor also had time to tell the witnesses what happened before he died,” Ari said.

“Giving money for the funeral or whatever, you can’t stop a criminal investigation into this case,” Ari said.

Meanwhile, West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) spokesman Sebby Sambon also said the victim was killed by TNI agents.

However, the Chief of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Kombes AM Kamal, denied the allegation that TNI was the author of the shooting death of Pastor Jeremia.

Kamal reasoned that there was no TNI post in Hitadipa.

According to him, what the TPNPB spokesperson said was unfounded and only wanted to make the situation worse.

According to Kamal’s statement, the perpetrator of Pastor Jeremiah’s murder was the KKB group led by Jelek Waker.
