Demonstrations in Medan Riot, police shoot tear gas

Hundreds of protesters who were members of the mass demonstration refused all the law Job creation law (Ciptaker) survived in North Sumatra DPRD Jalan Imam Bonjol, Countryside, Friday (9/10).

They rejected the call of the police apparatus to disperse because the hours for the demonstration had run out

“Our brothers and sisters urge you to disperse because it is already 6:00 pm WIB, the deadline for the demonstration has expired,” the policeman said over loudspeakers.


Initially the action was peaceful. Several groups of students disbanded. But others chose to stay.

Until 6 p.m. WIB, the police began to urge the students to disperse.

However, the group of protesters from various campuses refused to disperse. They remained in front of the North Sumatra DPRD office.

“Please, sir, also listen to our advice,” said a student using the speaker.

The police continued to appeal, but the masses persisted.

Later, a group of students threw stones at the police inside the DPRD North Sumatra building. Police responded by firing water cannons.

The students continued to attack. Several policemen were injured by throwing stones. The reason was that the masses began to riot, the police repeatedly fired tear gas and chased the rioters.

Several students are currently being insured. They were taken to the DPRD building in North Sumatra.
